Performing Arts : Wingfield Academy

Our Performing Arts curriculum is designed to help pupils succeed in dance, drama and music by encouraging commitment, effort and perseverance. Through structured and purposeful practice, pupils develop the skills, confidence and creativity needed to grow as performers, gaining both technical ability and a strong creative understanding. We believe pupils learn best by doing. Practical exploration, rehearsal and performance are at the heart of lessons, allowing pupils to apply their learning in meaningful ways.

Carefully sequenced experiences and clear subject knowledge help pupils to create, refine and perform with confidence, ensuring every student experiences a genuine sense of achievement and pride in their work. The curriculum plays a key role in developing pupils’ confidence and self‑belief. Pupils are encouraged to take creative risks in a safe and supportive environment, helping to build resilience and support emotional wellbeing. Working collaboratively with others helps pupils develop strong communication skills and a positive enjoyment of creative expression, fostering a lifelong appreciation of the performing arts.
