Enrichment at Wingfield Academy
At Wingfield Academy, we recognise that providing opportunities beyond the classroom is vital in developing students’ cultural capital. Our enrichment programme enables students to explore new hobbies, interests and talents that may otherwise remain undiscovered, helping them to grow in confidence and broaden their aspirations while at the same time helping them develop their personal understanding of our school values.
Respect, Resilience and Responsibility.
We believe that high-quality enrichment should be accessible to all students, not just those able to stay after school. To support this, we have ringfenced Wednesday afternoons for Key Stage 3 students to take part in enrichment every week, ensuring every student can benefit from these valuable experiences.
Our P5 enrichment programme for KS3 offers:
- A choice of over 50 different activities across the year
- A structured 10-week rotation system, allowing students to experience a wide range of opportunities
At Wingfield, we also recognise the importance of strong links between school and the wider community. We are proud to welcome volunteers from the local community who support our enrichment programme and share their skills and expertise with our students.
Enrichment at Wingfield extends beyond Wednesday afternoons. Students also have access to:
- Numerous sports teams
- A wide range of performing arts opportunities
- The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme
Parent Voice and Support
We are always looking to further enhance our enrichment offer. If you have feedback, ideas for new activities, or links to businesses and organisations that could support us, we would love to hear from you.
