Core Questions and Curriculum

The single most important driver in all that we do is to remain ‘child centred, progress focused’. From this starting point our Curriculum intent has evolved.

Our curriculum is much more than just lessons.  It includes the ethos, attitudes and relationships that we intentionally cultivate to make the school a ‘very special place’ to learn.

Core Questions

Core Questions are retrieval-based questions linked directly to curriculum content. They are designed to help students regularly revisit and recall key knowledge, concepts and skills from their subjects. By practising retrieval, students strengthen their long-term memory, improve understanding and build confidence in applying their learning. Regular use of Core Questions supports effective revision, helps identify gaps in knowledge and prepares students for assessments and examinations.
