Health and Social Care : Wingfield Academy

At Wingfield Academy, the NCFE Level 2 Technical Award in Child Development and Care course aims to give students a strong understanding of how children grow, learn, and develop from birth to early childhood. Our intent is to equip learners with the knowledge, practical skills, and confidence needed to support children’s wellbeing and development in real-world settings. Through a blend of theory and applied learning, students explore key areas such as developmental milestones, play-based learning, and creating safe, nurturing environments. The course prepares learners for further study or future careers in childcare, education, and health, while helping them develop empathy, responsibility, and a deeper appreciation of the vital role early years professionals play in children’s lives.
