Y11 Preparing for Success Evening Thursday 16th October

Firstly, we would like to inform you that we are delighted with the start that Year 11 have made. We recognise that Year 11 can be a demanding and stressful time for our students, with this in mind we are passionate about fully preparing them for the challenges ahead.

We are pleased to invite you and your child to our upcoming Preparing for Success Evening, which will take place on Thursday 16th October in the Main Hall.

This important event is designed to support both students and parents as we begin the critical phase of preparation for the upcoming GCSE examinations. During the evening, we will provide valuable information on:

• Effective study strategies and revision techniques• Key dates and expectations for the academic year ahead

• Support available from the school• Guidance on how parents can assist with independent learning at home

• Subject-specific signposted revision from the Heads of Departments of Maths andEnglish

There will also be an opportunity to ask questions and collect useful resources that will aid your child’s progress and wellbeing throughout the year.

Failure to attend the evening will result in your child not being able to receive their personalised revision pack.There will be one presentation repeated twice throughout the evening.

The presentation will be at 5.30pm for students who have surnames A- L.

The presentation will be at 6.45pm for students who have surnames M – Z, plus any student who is attending the geography trip on this date. (Please refer to the previous MCAS sent regarding the Geography trip).Please arrive at reception 10 minutes before your child’s presentation time so we can seat all parents and students in time for the start of the presentation.
