Spanish

Our MFL curriculum fosters curiosity about the language, culture and traditions of Spanish-speaking countries. Pupils explore both the shared values between Britain and the Spanish-speaking world and the differences that enrich our communities. Through developing cultural awareness and respect, students gain a stronger sense of belonging in a diverse global society.

Our curriculum builds learners’ confidence and resilience as they develop a new language. Through meaningful opportunities to listen, speak, read and write in Spanish, pupils communicate on relevant, age-appropriate topics. As their skills grow, they become confident, independent learners who can express themselves clearly and engage with authentic language.

Our curriculum supports strong progress in vocabulary, grammar and language structures, enabling pupils to use Spanish with increasing accuracy and creativity. By broadening cultural understanding and building linguistic skills, students are well prepared for future study, careers and life as global citizens.
